ZACH KLINDWORTH SCORES 3 BUT STORM FALLS SHORT IN 5-3 FINAL

Glendale, California- Santa Clarita was caught completely flat the first 45 minutes in Saturday night games vs Sporting San Fernando. Allowing goals off of defensive errors in the 26th, 36th, 43rd and 45th  minutes of play. 
After the second goal in the 36th min. Storm on the attack attempting to get back in the game, it was Midfielder Erick Peraza with the ball in midfield rushing the defense of Sporting found Zach Klindworth on the right side and made a perfect pass to Klindworth's feet. Klindworth went right to goal and managed shot that was out of reach by the keeper and in the 39th minute put his team within one in at 2-1 scoreline. 
However, that was not long lasting as Sporting came right back and just 4 minutes later in the 43rd min Sporting added another to gain back the 2 goal lead.  The half had added injury time of 2 minutes and that gave Sporting time to add one more before the close of the first 45 to gain a three-goal lead,  as the first half ended with a score of 4 - 1 
As the 2nd half began it took only 2 minutes for Sporting to continue their success over the Storm adding yet another goal in the 47th minute to give them a commanding 3 goal lead. 
After that and a few changes made by Head Coach Oscar Moreno, the Storm began to build and start controlling the game.  In the 62nd minute Klindworth again on the attack received the ball and after outmaneuvering the Sporting defense put his second goal on the night in the net and pulling within 3 of Sporting. 
The Storm continued to control the game and began to at to their attacks putting more pressure on the visitors. While on the attack in the box Andres Zalamea was fouled in the box and a penalty kick was awarded to the Storm.  Klindworth took the penalty kick and picked up the hat trick.
Santa Clarita continued to presser and dominate the game but time ran out. and fell 2 short in the 5-3 final time. 
Santa Clarita will attempt to get back on the right track next Saturday as they will take on LA 10 in an 8 pm match at Glendale Sports Complex.
